A Closer Look – Package and Accessories
The Monster Turbine came in a classy, lightly coloured box. At the front side there is an illustration of the in-ear speakers.
At the back side we can find the features of the product listed in various languages. There is a picture showing the anatomy of the earbud, as well as explaining the materials used.
The inner packaging, which some may feel goes beyond what is necessary, seems carefully designed to present and protect your investment from damage.
At the left side of the unfolded inner packaging, there is also a nice life moto which is the same Monster uses for their headphone products and we can also find it at the company’s official websit
In the box, you will find a luxurious black velvet protective case, apart from the earphones. Overall, the packaging is classy and carefully designed.
At the above pictures we can take a better look at the classy protective case that we found in the package.
Monster also included a second protective case which has a magnetic opening-closing mechanism that is actually very handy. So we could say we have two cases included, a more formal one and one simpler.
Inside the package you will also find an instruction manual, a guarantee card and marketing material.
Inside the package you will also find sound isolating eartips of multiple sizes. There is no way you will not feel comfortable wearing the Turbines, as they will fit any ear with the supplied eartips. There are five pairs of silicone eartips (three sizes of standard and two sizes of triple flange). Included is also a clip.
A Closer Look – The Earphones
The overall structure of the Monster Turbine earphones is of high quality and of solid build. The tangle-resistant cable is long enough and you will not have problems adjusting the unit to your needs.
The black chrome all-metal housing eliminates vibration for pure sound and maximum quality with no losses.
The speaker used is a newly developed broadband headphone unit that promises a rich sound experiences in all frequencies.
At the back of the earbuds there is a nice Monster logo. Looking at the product as a whole, there are small details that make the difference and make these in-ear speakers stand out from the lower-priced competitors. They look like they cannot be damaged, thanks to their solid structure.
The 3.5” mm jack is mate of 24K gold, which is something we would expect from a high-end headphone set. Using gold contacts is very important, as it is ensured that there will be no losses from the media device to the speakers.
Performance and Verdict
Fitting the earbuds was not a problem, thanks to the variety of fittings included in the package. There are fittings for any ear size, and this is a great plus, as the Turbine will not tire the majority of the users even if used for a long time.
After we plugged them in our Ipod, we found out that the sound quality was simply impressive – and impressive in all sound frequencies. The bass was deep, accurate and wide, and there was no distortion at all. We tested it with various kinds of music, from house to metal, of course using the suitable equalizer for each kind of music, and the Turbines never let us down. At first, the term “In-Ear Speakers” sounded a little bit too much, but the truth is that the sound quality was excellent and we felt isolated in a good way, as there was no external sound interference from outside. The set is also lightweight and you can wear it without being annoyed.
Finally, the overall packaging quality and contents sure add up for a classy product. Costing around 130 euros across Europe, it is obvious that this earphone set will not be for everyone’s pocket, but it is certainly worth the money as it deleivers great sound quality.
(+) Great sound quality
(+) Luxurious packaging
(+) Satisfying package contents (ear fittings and protective cases)
(-) Price, but you get what you pay for
Thus, we give the Monster Turbine High Performance In-Ear Spekers our Performance Award, as the sound quality they offer is impressive.
